| Name | Maureen James | Maureen specialises in historical stories from the British Isles particularly those that can evoke a place and time. She is a qualified teacher with many years experience in historical interpretation, has an MA in Museums & Galleries in Education (for which she wrote a report on the place of storytelling in museums) and is presently carrying out research on a collection of stories for a PhD with the University of Glamorgan. She provides storytelling sessions, talks, lectures, and guided walks, though most of her work is storytelling in museums and at heritage sites, where she usually tells in the costume of the period. Maureen has a repertoire that spreads from the Celts & Romans through the Dark Age, Medieval, Tudor, Civil War, Regency and Victorian periods up to World War Two, though her preferred period is Medieval. She is a regular contributor to Smallholder Magazine on the subject of history and folklore and is a member of Equity and the International Museum Theatre Alliance.
