Name Mark Bedford Mark has over 9 years experience as a professional storyteller. Always a lover of stories he came to performing through working as a children’s librarian and has a lot of experience with children and literacy. In 2003 he was made a 'Reading Champion' by the National Literacy Association. He has worked extensively in primary and secondary schools including a running a storytelling club at Addington High School in Croydon.

Mark’s storytelling journey has taken him to libraries, festivals, country parks, prisons, nursing homes, hospices and many other places. He has performed at the Brighton and Uckfield festivals. Mark has recently developed a one man show about the life of St Francis of Assisi inspired by living in Assisi. This was recently performed at Old St Pancras Church in London accompanied by the Inspiritus Choral Group.

Mark has also worked, lived and told stories in California. He works cooperatively with other storytellers and is currently telling the story of Parcival with Weald Stories and stories about the Olympic Games with the Olympian Storytellers. He is also involved in a project called 'Storytelling through History' in primary schools with his colleague Pat Robson.

Mark runs workshops in storytelling for children, teachers, librarians, prisoners and hospice workers. He has a current CRB check.
